The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its applications portal. Students seeking placement in various degree, diploma, and certificate courses across universities and colleges can now make their application. While primarily targeting 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) students, the opportunity extends to form four leavers from 2000 to 2022 as well.

Steps to Apply for KUCCPS Placement
1. Eligibility
Ensure you have sat for KCSE and meet the minimum requirements for your chosen program.
2. Accessing the Website
Visit the KUCCPS website and access the Student’s Portal.

3. Logging In
Enter your KCSE Index Number, Year of KCSE, and your password (KCPE Index or Birth Certificate Number).
4. Provide Contact Information
Once you Login, ensure your contact information is accurate as it will be used for communication regarding your placement status.

5. Dashboard
View a summary of available programs and institutions. For degree programs, your Weighted Cluster Points (WCP) will be displayed.
6. Identifying Programs
Programs can be identified through the ‘Institutions’ or ‘Programmes’ menu. Search for specific programs by keyword or cluster name.
7. Choosing Your Programs
Choose your preferred courses and note the Programme Codes . You can note the codes of up to four courses according to your order of priority.

8. Making an Application
Once you have choose known your prefered four courses and the code, on the menu bar, access the “Application/Revision” menu, enter the Programme Codes only. You can apply for up to four courses and arrange them in your order of priority. Once you enter the program codes, submit your application. Payment instructions will be provided.
NB: KUCCPS Payment instruction
You will be required to pay Ksh1,500.
Click on the “Proceed to Pay” link.
Choose your preferred payment method (M-PESA, Kenya Commercial Bank, RTGS or Airtel Money).
For M-PESA, enter your M-PESA PIN and send. Use the provided Account Number to submit the application. Do not use the MPESA transaction code.
After successful payment, the system will display a message indicating that the application was successful.
9. Confirming Application Submission
Check the Application History or Dashboard tab to confirm successful submission.
10. Making Changes to Your Application
Changes can be made before the deadline by opting out of multiple levels processing or deleting your application.
Importance Notice
Optional Feature: Course Basket: Use the Course Basket to save programs of interest for later consideration. Remember that adding programs to the basket is not the same as submitting an application.
Optional Feature: Settings: You can edit your contact information at any time through the Settings button.
Remember to utilize the resources available under the “Downloads” tab and always log out of your account for security purposes.
Funding & Programme Cost: Government funding is available for public universities and public TVET institutions under the Ministry of Education. Private universities, public TVET institutions in other line Ministries, teacher training colleges, and public universities’ diploma programs are not eligible for government capitation.
Course Basket: Utilize the ‘Basket Feature’ to narrow down specific programs of interest. Note that adding programs to the basket does not constitute an application.
Submission Deadline: The application portal remains open until February 20, 2024. It’s advisable to apply early to ensure timely processing of your application.
