Hazina Sacco – Contacts, Mobile Banking, Bosa: Hazina Sacco Society Limited is a nationwide Deposit Taking Sacco established in 1971 and registered under Co-operatives Societies Act (Cap 490) of the laws of Kenya. Hazina Sacco is regulated by Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA). Our main objective is promoting thrift and savings amongst our members thereby creating a source of loanable funds.
Initially, the Society drew its membership from the then Ministry of Finance and Planning. Subsequently and in line with Sessional Paper No. 1 of 1986 on ‘Economic Management for Renewed Growth’ on liberalization of the economy, the Society opened its common bond to allow membership from other ministries, Parastatals, County Governments and Private Sector. Currently, the Society has over 16,000 active members.
The Society provides a variety of services through Back Office Services Activity (BOSA) and Front Office Savings Activity (FOSA).

Mission: To provide prompt, quality and efficient financial services through effective mobilization of savings and prudent administration of credit for socio–economic advancement of members.

Hazina Sacco Mobile Banking
Mobile banking is a service provided by Hazina Sacco that will allow our Members to conduct Sacco transactions remotely using a mobile device. Members will apply for this service by filling the prescribed forms and dropping it at the Sacco Offices
Mobile banking manual is as follows
By use of ussd code
- Dial *850#
- A popup window will appear welcoming you to Hazina Sacco and asking for your pin
- Then enter your pin and a menu screen will appear
- For balance enquiry you will select 1 and another popup window will appear asking you to enter your salary account. Once you enter your account you will receive a message showing you your loan balance
- For Cash withdrawal, you will select 2 and another popup window will appear asking you to enter your salary account
- After you enter your account it will prompt you to enter amount to withdraw
- Then once you press okay another message telling you that your transaction is being processed will appear
- For Cash deposit you will dial number 3 then a popup window appears showing you how to deposit money using paybill
- For mini statement you will type 4 then it will ask you for your salary account
- Then you will receive a message showing you the last 5 transactions in your FOSA
- For funds transfer press 5 and it will prompt you to select to transfer to FOSA and BOSA
- Once you select BOSA it will then prompt you to select transfer to deposits and transfer to share capital
- Then it will prompt you to select the salary account to transfer from and the amount and it will transfer

BOSA LOAN PRODUCTS
1.Normal /Development Loan
- Given at 4 times of a member’s deposits.
- Interest rate of 1% per month on reducing balance.
- Maximum repayment period of 72 months.
- Top-Up /Normal Development Loan .
- Available to members who are servicing the Normal Loan.
- Maximum repayment period of 72 months.
- Interest rate of 1% per month on reducing balance.
- School Fees and College Fees Loans
- College Fees Loan is given up to a maximum of Ksh. 500,000 per year.
- Nursery to secondary School Fees Loan given up to a maximum is Ksh. 200,000/- per year.
- Interest rate of 1% per month on reducing balance.
- Maximum repayment period of 12 months.
- No documentary evidence is required
- Super Loan
- Given at 5 times of a member’s deposits.
- Maximum repayment period of 84 months.
- Interest rate of 1.15% per month on reducing balance.
5.Emergency Loan
- Given at 4 times of a member’s deposits.
- Maximum repayment period of 12 months.
- Interest rate of 1% per month on reducing balance.
- No documentary evidence is required
- Top-Up Emergency Loan
- Maximum repayment period of 12 months.
- Interest rate of 1% per month on reducing balance.
- No documentary evidence is required
- Requirements for Loan Application
- Members are required to be familiar with the Society’s current Loan Policy.
- Dully filled loan application form.
- Attach one original current pay-slip (not more than two months old to the date of application) A copy of National ID Card showing both sides. All loans must be secured by guarantors or collateral Private members to use own deposits for guarantor ship of up to 95%.
- Chama Loan
- Advanced at 4 times Chama’s deposits
- Interest rate of 1% per month on reducing balance
- Maximum repayment period of 24 months.
- Maximum of Ksh. 30,000,000
- Chama Loan
- Advanced at 4 times Chama’s deposits
- Interest rate of 1% per month on reducing balance
- Maximum repayment period of 24 months.
- Maximum of Ksh. 40,000,000
- Dividend Advance
- Members may apply for advance dividends/ interest on deposits as may be approved by the Board of directors.
- Such payments will be made between September and February.
- The amount payable will not exceed half of the dividends on shares/interest on deposits earned as at 30th June of the last financial year and will attract a 10% interest upfront.
- Requirements for a Chama Loan
- Consistent contributions for 4 months.
- A fully filled application form signed by the officials.
- Group minutes authorizing for loan application.
- Purpose of the loan must be within the Group/Chamas constitution.
