Below is a Global Warming Informative Speech
Topic: Effect of Global Warming
“The earth is in danger of burning up. We are all in the danger of getting burnt down. Global Warming is certainly the greatest environmental challenge that is facing the earth presently. The sea level is slowly rising, the ice on our mountain glaciers is falling down and cases of drought and famine are increasing. Further, we are recording the hottest days and decades ever. What is even more alarming is that the earth’s temperature has risen to the highest point ever in recent years.
The effects of global warming are enormous. First, it has led to the rising of sea level. On average sea levels have increased by over 8 inches approximately 23 cm since 1880. It has been observed that about three of those inches have been gained in the last 25 years. New research issued on February 15, 2022, indicates that sea level rise is accelerating and the estimated rise per year will be a foot by 2050.
Another, the effect of global warming is hotter temperatures. Closely all countries are experiencing more heat waves and hot days. 2020 was recorded as one of the hottest year Higher temperatures continue to cause heat-related diseases. Additionally, it is making it even more difficult to carry out day-to-day activities. Wildfires are more common and they even spread faster causing more destruction.
Today we experiencing more severe storms due to global warming. The change in temperature leads to changes in rainfall. As a result, more severe and frequent storms are coming up. With increased storms and rainfall, flooding and landslides have become more common.
The ocean absorbs most of the heat from global warming. Increased heat in oceans is leading to Greenland losing 20% more mass than it gets from new snowfall. Further increased carbon dioxide in the ocean leads to acidic waters hence killing destroying the coral reef and endangering marine life.
Climate change surges the factors that put and keep people in poverty. Constant floods destroy homes and livelihoods. Droughts make it difficult for people to get adequate food. This adds to the number of people finding it hard to afford their basic needs
Lastly, global warming has led to the loss of species due to climatic changes. The forest fire destroys animal and plant species that may be hard to replace. Animals living in water are also becoming extinct due to the rising heat.
We all have seen the effects of global warming. Our lives have been affected by this menace in one way or another. To have better days ahead we all need to come together and prevent the rise of the earth’s temperature. Proper measures should be put in place by individuals, organizations, countries, and the world as a whole. Our earth is so unforgiving; she will destroy us at the same rate we are destroying her.”

Example of informative speech about smoking
Effects of Smoking
“We have all come across a person who smokes or we could be the ones with the habit. Ever wondered what are the dangers of smoking one or two cigarettes or cigars. Smoking leads to disease and disability and harms nearly every organ of the body. More than 16 million Americans are facing diseases caused by smoking.
The first and common effect of smoking is that it can cause cancer. The Poisons in cigarette smoke can dwindle the body’s immune system, making it tougher to kill cancer cells. When this occurs, cancer cells keep rising without being stopped. Furthermore, poisons in tobacco smoke can hurt or alter a cell’s DNA. Once DNA is damaged, a cell can start growing out of control and generate a cancer tumor. Doctors have known for years that smoking leads to most lung cancers. Today nearly 9 out of 10 lung cancers are caused by smoking cigarettes. According to research, currently, smokers have a higher risk for lung cancer than they did in the early 1960s, though they may smoke fewer cigarettes.
Smoking leads to heart diseases and stroke. In fact, smoking is a major root of Cardio Vascular Disease (CVD) further it causes one of every four deaths from CVD. Smoking can cause lower “good” cholesterol, make blood sticky, increase the chance of blot clotting, cause thickening and narrowing of blood vessels, etc. All these factors increase the risk of one getting heart disease or stroke.
The effect of smoking on women is worse than in men. Women who smoke have more trouble getting pregnant and have a higher risk of being infertile. It is well known that smoking during pregnancy can cause tissue injury in the unborn baby, mainly in the lung and brain. Further, a smoking pregnant woman is more likely to miscarriage.
Smoking is one the worse harm a person can bring into their body. The government may raise taxes on cigarettes but people still continue with the n=habit regardless of the danger it poses. As more people are being exposed to cancer, lung diseases, and heart disease it up to every person to make the choice to stop the habit of smoking. Those who are not hooked on smoking should avoid the habit at all costs.”

Example of President’s Joe Biden Informative Speech on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
“Sorry to keep you waiting. Good afternoon. The Russian military has begun a brutal assault on the people of Ukraine without provocation, without justification, without necessity.
This is a premeditated attack. Vladimir Putin has been planning this for months, as I’ve been—as we’ve been saying all along. The Russian president moved more than 175,000 troops, military equipment into positions along the Ukrainian border.
He moved blood supplies into position and built a field hospital, which tells you all you need to know about his intentions all along.
Putin rejected every good-faith effort the United States and our Allies and partners made to address our mutual security concerns through dialogue to avoid needless conflict and avert human suffering.
For weeks—for weeks, we have been warning that this would happen. And now it’s unfolding largely as we predicted.
In the past week, we’ve seen shelling increase in the Donbas, the region in eastern Ukraine controlled by Russian-backed separatists.
Rus-—the Russian government has perpetrated cyberattacks against Ukraine.
We saw a staged political theater in Moscow—outlandish and baseless claims that Ukraine was—Ukraine was about to invade and launch a war against Russia, that Ukraine was prepared to use chemical weapons, that Ukraine committed a genocide—without any evidence.
We saw a flagrant violation of international law in attempting to unilaterally create two new so-called republics on sovereign Ukrainian territory.
And at the very moment that the United Nations Security Council was meeting to stand up for Ukraine’s sovereignty to stave off invasion, Putin declared his war.
Within moments—moments, missile strikes began to fall on historic cities across Ukraine.
Then came in the air raids, followed by tanks and troops rolling in.
We’ve been transparent with the world. We’ve shared declassified evidence about Russia’s plans and cyberattacks and false pretexts so that there can be no confusion or cover-up about what Putin was doing.”
