The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results for 2015 were released after a long wait. 2015 candidates were faced with numerous challenges and the cases of cheating were on the increase, regardless of the numerous measures to curb the habit. Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i confirmed the same by saying there was 70 per cent rise in cases of exam irregularities.

Out of these irregularities more than 5,000 individual results have been cancelled, up from 2,975 cases recorded in the 2014.

Isiolo County was the only one that did not have exam irregularities.  Nairobi, Makueni and Meru counties had the highest cases of cheating. In comparison to previous years, 2015 results will not be cancelled for in totality of all students. Cancellation was done only per suspected individual student.
